It’s the small technical details that are behind big emotions. Bosch is driving the development of these technologies forward with careful attention to detail, from feature-based development and smart safety features to innovative convenience functions. We do this in collaboration with our partners to bring an optimal, highly personalized driving experience to the road that excites people.
Drivers expect the greatest possible comfort and convenience in their vehicles – today and tomorrow. This means extensive infotainment solutions, connected services, and convenient features in the vehicle interior that make each trip into an exclusive experience – whether on long trips or over short distances.
Bosch is driving the development of these feel-good features forward at top speed. For comfortable and convenient mobility that brings drivers to their destination in relaxation.
The best possible comfort and convenience begins in the vehicle interior. Factors such as the cockpit and interior design as well as the look and feel all make an important difference when it comes to how the driving experience is perceived. Future vehicle interior designs will be more minimalist and intuitive, and display solutions will be increasingly integrated into the cockpit.
With hidden displays, screens and interactive technology disappear behind decorative surfaces with, for example, a wood or carbon-fiber finish, so displays can be integrated seamlessly into the interior design. Thanks to the wake-up feature, the display vanishes when in standby mode and lights up again only when activated, much like a smartphone. In this way, hidden displays support the trend of creating a minimalist, uncluttered cockpit.
The passive multiview 3D display from Bosch was awarded the CES Best of Innovation Award 2020 in the In-Vehicle Entertainment & Safety category. The innovative display can produce a realistic-looking depth effect on the vehicle’s digital displays – and without the need for any additional technology, such as special eyewear or eye tracking. What is more, not only can the driver see the effect, the front passenger and other vehicle occupants can see it too. The 3D display can be integrated anywhere displays are used. In the driver information display, the depth effect enables better prioritization of messages. The spatial effect in the central display, for example, ensures a better presentation of the route during navigation and better estimation of distances when displaying the rear-view camera. With the systems for front-passenger and rear-seat entertainment, all infotainment and entertainment content can be enjoyed in the highest quality with a truly realistic depth effect. The strength of the depth effect can be adjusted individually or even be disabled completely – so each driver and passenger can select their own preferred setting.
Bosch is developing driver assistance systems and smart technologies that actively support and reduce the burden on drivers, thus making traffic even safer. After all, the safety of every traffic participant is top priority – across all vehicle segments.
With our many years of experience, we are working every day to pave the way for automated driving with technology invented for life.
The list of driver assistance systems is getting longer all the time. Drivers welcome the increase in safety and convenience, but also expect natural vehicle behavior and self-determination with regard to the driving experience and driving enjoyment. With the dynamic distance assist (DDA), Bosch has
developed a driver assistance system that orients itself toward the driver’s expectations. It adapts to the driver’s driving style and enables a natural driving feel as well as a convenient, noticeable increase in safety – all with simple and intuitive operation.
