Bosch at IAA Transportation 2022

Light commercial vehicles weighing up to 7.5 t can be electrified with the Bosch eCityTruck powertrain system. Freight, for example, can be distributed even at night in urban areas thanks to the system’s zero local emissions and low operating noise. In this way, Bosch is making an important contribution to the electrification of deliveries in cities with this system.

The electric eDistanceTruck powertrain solutions make an important contribution to meet future fleet CO₂ targets and are especially attractive for long-haul traffic with loads of over 26 tons. The range of options includes fuel cell-electric drives, battery-electric drives, and hybrid powertrains.

In addition to fuel cell applications and battery-electric drives, the hydrogen engine represents a further option in the powertrain mix of the future. Particularly in challenging environmental conditions, the hydrogen engine is characterized by its high robustness.

The strategic collaboration between Bosch and Amazon Web Services (AWS) will offer logistics and trucking companies around the world fast and uncomplicated access to digital services. The logistics operating system (L.OS) that has been developed is designed as an open ecosystem that uses data to improve efficiency and sustainability in the industry.

The infotainment system developed by Bosch transform any bus into a fully connected entertainment center. The components, which are certified under all standards that are typical on the market, enhance the quality of life in the passenger area. The Coach Infotainment series enables passengers to surf the internet and enjoy media content in the best quality, all without interruptions. Many additional solutions bring state-of-the-art multimedia functions into the bus cabin.

The third generation of the multipurpose camera from Bosch is one of the most important components for driver assistance systems and partially automated driving and is perfectly tailored to the requirements in heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

The front-radar sensor for heavy-duty commercial vehicles enables reliable object recognition and object tracking in front of the vehicle. High range and angular resolution as well as a wide beam angle give the sensor the necessary characteristics to meet, in particular, the strict regulatory requirements for automatic emergency braking of vehicles.

With the ServoE, Bosch expands its product portfolio with a full electric steering system for heavy commercial vehicles. The ServoE enables easy and oil-free installation as well as safe and eco-friendly driving. Based on the redundant design of the system, assistance functions up to automated driving are possible.

With the connectivity solutions from Bosch, fleet operators can keep everything in view in real time and manage each commercial vehicle individually – from tracking its current location, to monitoring during maintenance or when reserving a parking space, and even managing digitally available vehicle keys. All connected services offer both drivers and fleet operators increased security, flexibility, and convenience.
