The proving ground Donghai covers an area of 890 hectares (2,200 acres), with test tracks of high standard, various road surfaces and friction coefficients, and provides you with driving training and engineering services.

Vehicle dynamics area

Circular area that includes parking area, meeting room, run-up, acceleration track and testing area. The circular area can be used for braking maneuvers, lane changes, driving in a circle or slalom driving. For driving in a circle, markings are provided with different radii. In addition, the area has markings for a handling course.

TCS slopes

TCS slopes

The slopes are intended for testing traction control systems (TCS) and downhill braking. There are uphill slopes with gradients of 10%, 15%, 20% for different μ-split constellations available. The slope with a gradient of 30% provides a special slope for tilting the vehicle.

Brake tests can be carried out on the floodable tracks with various surfaces and friction coefficients. The proving ground Donghai provides two different brake measurement tacks.

Handling course

On handling course, the vehicle’s handling can be tested in extreme curvy situations. For this purpose, our handling courses provide a variety of different curve radii. To provide the wet asphalt surface for wet handling, sprinklers are installed on both sides of the inner lane. Many roads connect the inner lane with the outer lane, thus the test route can be flexibly planned according to the customer needs.

Test track safety

Our control center is the onsite management team responsible for coordinating all test tracks and test drivers. A rescue car is on call to provide support in case of a vehicle failure. The emergency rescue team is on standby, responsible for the first aid support and coordination of ambulance and fire engine.

An electronic access control system for vehicles ensures that only authorized drivers can enter the individual tracks. The video surveillance system is used to monitor the testing area access and real-time situation. Tire walls and crash zones ensure increased safety when carrying out driving maneuvers.

Driving safety training: The Donghai proving ground provides driving training service to all engineers inside or outside the auto industry, and meets tailor made training needs.
